Coral Active: Positioning & Messaging
Subtitle: ENTERPRISE CONTACT CENTER PLATFORM Role: Messaging Partner Timeline: 2025 URL: https://hunterandbard.com/portfolio/coral-active
Summary
A full repositioning and full materials (including website) messaging overhaul for an enterprise agent desktop platform. The new messaging moves Coral Active from a technical description of its plumbing to a promise about what its customers can do: empower agents to deliver experiences their competitors cannot.
Challenge
Coral Active sat inside a category buyers didn't shop by name. The original homepage led with 'The World's First Web Based Agent Desktop', framing the product as infrastructure. Buyers, contact center leaders responsible for CSAT, NPS, and cost per contact, don't procure a browser-based interface. They procure outcomes. The site talked about HTML5 and large-scale deployments before it talked about agents, customers, or business results.
Outcomes
- Buyer-Led Homepage — A homepage that opens with the outcome ('Empower your agents with the impossible') and treats the technical differentiators as proof, not premise.
- Agent Experience as the Wedge — Repositioned the product around the agent experience: the operational lever that determines CSAT, handle time, and first-call resolution.
- Outcomes-First Proof — The metrics buyers actually own, first-call resolution, ROI, handle time, transfer rate, brought forward as the site's proof structure.
Learnings
- The old homepage led with what the product is ('a web-based agent desktop'). The new one leads with what the buyer can do ('empower your agents with the impossible'). Category-first framing works only when buyers already shop the category by name. Coral's buyers don't; they shop outcomes.
- Agent experience is the wedge. CSAT and NPS are downstream of it, and every contact center leader knows it. Naming that lever explicitly, instead of hiding it inside a feature list, gave the homepage a spine.
- Technical proof still matters, but it belongs after the promise, not in place of it. Multi-CTI, multi-CRM, cloud transition, all kept, all repositioned as evidence for the outcome rather than as the headline.
